Vegan Chickpea "Tuna" Melt


How To: Vegan Chickpea "Tuna" Melt Recipe



  • 2 Celery Stalks Diced

  • 2 Carrots Diced

  • 1/4-1/2 Large Red Onion

  • 1/2 Lemon

  • 1 TBSP Dill Relish

  • 1 TBSP Dijon Mustard

  • 1/2 Cup Vegan Mayonnaise

  • 2 Cans Chickpeas aka Garbanzo Beans

  • Salt, Pepper + Red Pepper To Taste

  • 2 TBSP Fresh Dill

Garnish For Sandwiches:


  1. Rinse, strain and pat dry 2 cans of chickpeas

  2. Mash the chickpeas with a fork until smooth but keep some chunks for added texture

  3. Add in carrots, celery, onion and squeeze of lemon and mix well

  4. Add in "wet" ingredients - Relish, Mustard, Mayo and mix well

  5. Add in spices + fresh dill and mix

For Bread:

  1. Add two slices of vegan cheese to bread of choice and toast for about 8 minutes or until desired texture

  2. Add on the chickpea mix, garnish with toppings and enjoy!
